FEELING tired? Ways to Help Recover from Post-Covid Fatigue
Symptoms after acute Covid-19 are highly variable and wide-ranging. The most commonly reported symptoms include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Respiratory symptoms
- Cardiovascular symptoms
- Neurological symptoms*
- Gastrointestinal symptoms
- Musculoskeletal symptoms*
- ENT symptoms
- Dermatological symptoms
- Psychological/Psychiatric symptoms
- Generalized symptoms*
*Musculoskeletal, neurological and generalized symptoms are amongst the common complaints we have seen in the clinic.
Fatigue or a decrease in overall energy and stamina is the highlight of complaints in particular. Here are some healing methods you can incorporate into your daily life routine to rebuild your energy faster.
a) Herbal options :
The herbal options are often used individually and/or with a combination of other herbs to amplify their function and efficacy. They can be taken as a single-herb tea, customized herbal tea formula, or be used as an ingredient in food preparation (soup/broth).
b) Home-Acupressure points:
Other than the above home-remedy, to prevent the prolongation and exacerbation of post-covid fatigue, a tailored recovery approach for your body constitution is of importance, so consult a licensed TCM doctor for a customized treatment plan.
c) Acupuncture & Moxibustion
Acupuncture and Moxibustion heat therapy, when body constitution permits, can support the tonification and movement of Qi along the meridians. This helps to restore balance in energy flow.
An example of points that we emphasize to work on for moxibustion in deficient body constitution as follow:
1) 关元 REN 4 (Gate of Origin)
2)气海 REN 6 (Sea of Qi)
3)神阙 REN 8 (Spirit Gateway)
