Can I do a medical treatment without seeing a doctor?

Seeking medical advice before treatment is highly recommended (essential). Doctors first perform detailed check-up and later provide accurate diagnosis, personalized treatment plans, evidence-based approaches, ongoing monitoring, and risk management. Following a physicians recommendation increases treatment success and quicker recovery. Consultation ensures individualized care tailored to your needs and maximizes treatment effectiveness.

How early do I need to come for my appointment?

For the first visit, please kindly come 15 – 20 minutes earlier for registration. Please fill in the forms available at (forms to fill in for your first appointment as accurate as possible)

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

On your first visit, please bring your passport, insurance card and all your medical history/records (preferably you bring a copy for your file).

What do I need to do if I want to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

Please contact us as soon as possible once you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment; We usually contact you 1-2 days before your appointment via WeChat or email to confirm your appointment, please reply to the message you received to allow enough time to rearrange. Please notice that cancellation less than 24 h before your appointment could involve the 24 h cancellation policy

How can I get my lab result?

After taking a sample in our clinic your doctor will schedule a follow up appointment to thoroughly explain the results to you in detail. Your doctor will also let you know, if you need a follow up appointment or if you can be inform via telephone call. If you need a copy of your lab, we can send it to your confidential contact information.

How can I get a refill of my medicine? Can I get a refill of my medicine without seeing a doctor?

It is strongly recommended to consult a doctor for medicine refills, especially for the individually prepared herbal medicine. Seeking professional medical advice ensures safe and appropriate medication management. Therefore, we highly advise seeing a doctor to refill your medicines. According to the Chinese law the longest period to prescribe medicine is 28 days.

I usually do not eat breakfast. Can I take herbal tea with empty stomach?

Herbal tea is recommended to be taken 20-30 mints after meal unless there is special requirement from the doctor. As the herbal medicine is advised to be taken after meal, you can also take it after lunch and dinner.

How often should I schedule routine treatment?

It depends on the condition, usually doctors/therapists will explain after the treatment.

Tuina, physiotherapy, and chiropractic treatment are all therapeutic approaches that focus on addressing musculoskeletal issues and promoting overall wellness. While they share some similarities, there are distinct differences between these practices:

Is acupuncture painful?

Acupuncture typically involves a mild and wanted sensation of pain (it’s called “De Qi – Sensation”, which lasts for a short duration. Most people experience a feeling of prickling, soreness, or slight numbness. If you feel pain or discomfort during the acupuncture treatment, please promptly inform the acupuncturist, who can adjust the treatment to alleviate the pain, or remove the needle instantly.

Can TCM be used alongside Western medicine?

Yes,  herbal medicine can complement Western medicine very efficiently. It is important to inform both, your TCM practitioner and your physician about any treatments or medications you are receiving from either system. This allows for better coordination and an integrative approach to your healthcare.

How many TCM sessions are usually required to see results?

The number of TCM sessions needed varies depending on the individual’s condition, its severity, and overall health. Acute conditions may respond more quickly (three days to seven days), while chronic conditions may require regular and consistent treatment over a longer period (at least two months).

Is TCM suitable for children and elderly?

Yes, TCM can be adapted to suit individuals of all ages. TCM treatments are tailored to the specific needs and conditions of children and the elderly, considering their unique physiology and health concerns.

If I get my period, can I keep taking the herbal medicine from the doctor? Do I need to reschedule my acupuncture/tuina appointment?

If you come for conditions related to OB/Gyn, it is essential that you take the medicine tailored to before or after the period right according to the doctors explanation. Do not mix up the herbs, as it might have an impact on the flow. For any other condition your doctor will always, as a standard, ask you about your menstruation cycle to prevent any contraindication.

What is orthotics?

Our feet were designed to walk on soft, natural surfaces like soil and sand, today we walk on hard, unnatural “man-made” surfaces. The loss of our “Footprint” causes our feet to compensate unnaturally by rolling in (over pronating).

Orthotics/insoles are designed to reduce the knee, foot, heel or hip- and back pain related to over-pronation.
