Jonathan is a psychologist and specializes in using psychodynamic therapy called ISTDP to support those who are struggling with emotional suffering and anxiety. He is fluent in both English and Mandarin, and also a current core trainee in the 3 year ISTDP core training program with Dynamic Psychotherapy in Melbourne, Australia under Julie Cochrane, Australia’s first ISTDP practictioner.
Jonathan Zielinski has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from SUNY Buffalo in New York and a Master’s in Applied Psychology (M.A.P.) with a Focus in Counseling from Fudan University. He was the first foreigner to ever participate and complete the highly competitive clinical internship program at Shanghai University Psychological Counseling Center under China’s most renowned expert in Lacanian Psychoanalysis, Qing Wei. Jonathan was also the first foreigner to complete the renowned clinical internship program at Shanghai Yangpu District Mental Health Ward and is one of two foreigners able to conduct Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) in China and the only one able to do so in Mandarin.
Jonathan can see teenage patients aged 14 and above along with adults.
