TCM & Internal Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has proven effective in treating a vast array of internal medical conditions, whether acute or chronic. When applying TCM’s holistic approach, doctors consider several parameters to characterize the pattern of a disease to fully treat the patient. With a detailed diagnosis, doctors will design a treatment plan based on TCM philosophies, which usually comprises a combination of herbal medicine and acupuncture (and, possibly, complementary therapies).

TCM can effectively cure internal medical disorders such as:

  • Digestive disorders (constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, acid reflux, etc.)
  • Respiratory tract disorders (influenza and colds, coughs, asthma, etc.)
  • Allergies
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Skin problems
  • Fatigue & Insomnia
  • Burn-out syndrome
  • Thyroid disorders symptoms
  • Kidney diseases
  • Obesity and weight gain
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Gynecological & menstrual disorders
  • Western therapies’ side effects (for virus and cancer treatments)
  • Psychological turmoil

Consistent with Body & Soul’s integrative approach to health, doctors can also use western modern diagnostic techniques such as blood tests and ultrasound to complement their diagnosis. Likewise, the treatment plan they’ll design for their patient may include western therapies in order to treat the whole person. When necessary, western medication can also be prescribed (such as in cases of severe bacterial infection indicated by a blood test).
